Australian air cargo drops

Total cargo movements at Australian airports on domestic Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) flights were 451.1 thousand tonnes in the year ending December 2012, a decrease of 8.5 per cent compared to the previous year, according to the Australian Department of Infrastructure and Transport.

For the year ending December 2012, Sydney was the busiest airport in terms of cargo movements (122.4 thousand tonnes, down 9.1 per cent compared to the year ending December 2011), followed by Melbourne (115.9 thousand tonnes, down 5.7 per cent) and Brisbane (71.3 thousand tonnes, down 12.0 per cent).
