Russians struggle to handle air cargo slump

6/15/2013 9:25:19 AM

Russian cargo carriers reportedly are struggling with the air cargo downturn, with Polet Airlines to stop operating its IL-96-400T freighter aircraft, although it will keep its AN-124s.

It has three IL-96-400Ts, but reports say they have not flown for some time. Aeroflot, too, appears to be having trouble, with plans to return three MD11Fs to their lessor or to park them.
