IAG Cargo will launch a new air cargo route from London Heathrow to Austin, Texas, in March 2014, and will offer an additional export route for the area’s expanding technology hub.
IAG Cargo, the freight business of British Airways and Iberia, will provide five flights per week to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport before moving to daily flights on May 3, 2014. The route will be serviced by the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which has air conditioning in the forward hold and heating in the rear hold. It will benefit the high-tech trade flows from Austin’s “Silicon Hills,” as well as businesses operating from Mexico, according to IAG Cargo.
In August, IAG Cargo announced the expansion of its Cargo Connector small freight collection service to the vicinity of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas, as well as Georgia’s Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport.
