Qatar Airways Cargo adds 4 new stops, boosts frequency to Seoul, Oslo

QATAR Airways Cargo is expanding its global network by launching new dedicated freighter services to Beirut, Madrid, Paris and Tbilisi in Georgia.

In addition, the carrier has stepped up the frequency of its flights to Seoul in South Korea and raised the capacity of its Oslo service, reports Lloyd's Loading List.

The airline started twice-weekly service to Madrid on October 30 operated with a Qatar Airways' Airbus A330 freighter. The cargo mix is expected to include textiles and apparel, food and beverages, metals, chemicals, automobiles, machine tools, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.

To serve Beirut, a Boeing 777 freighter started operating a weekly scheduled service from Doha on November 1. Cargo shipments are likely to comprise mainly food, jewellery, textiles, furniture and metal products.

The cargo carrier is launching twice-weekly Airbus A330 freighter services to Paris from November 21.

Effective from November 26, Qatar Airways' passenger services to Tbilisi will be supplemented with one weekly Airbus A330 freighter every Tuesday. Georgia's major exports are mineral water, wine, vehicles, fertilisers, nuts, scrap metal, gold and copper.

Frequency to Seoul was boosted by an extra Boeing 777 freighter service that flies three times a week, started from October 29. Capacity was also increased on its Doha-Oslo route by the introduction of an A330 freighter.
