ICI Paints has awarded Kuehne+Nagel a three-year contract to provide warehousing services for its Austrian sales market. The agreement was implemented at the beginning of this year.
K+N’s new facility on the outskirts of Vienna is specially equipped to meet the requirements of this industry, and is fully certified for the storage and handling of dangerous goods, pressurised containers, and substances hazardous to water.
K+N provides warehousing and picking, as well as value-added services such as re-labelling and repacking. It has dedicated 5,000 m2 to these operations.
According to Karl Meyer, K+N’s Vienna district manager, the commissioning of the new facility sees the company adding a new field of business to its contract logistics activities in the Vienna region.
K+N also operates two more facilities in Greater Vienna: a warehouse (30,000 pallet positions) dedicated to the FMCG market, and a 25,000 m2 facility geared to consumer electronics.
