Panalpina and the NYK Group have agreed to co-operate both in Japan and internationally, supporting each other with their complementary geographic networks and similar business models.
According to the agreement, NYK subsidiary Yusen Air & Sea Service (YAS) will become Panalpina’s agent in Japan, and Panalpina will represent YAS’ interests in several countries across Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, in addition to its existing network.
Expected to become effective during Q2 2007, the agreement will provide new business opportunities for both parties.
The agency agreement with YAS will allow Panalpina to consolidate its service offerings, purchasing and domestic activities in Japan. It will also give YAS access to Panalpina’s extensive network and in-depth market knowledge.
