Maersk Line has announced a general rate increase in the eastbound North America to Middle East and Indian Subcontinent trade.
The Danish carrier noted it had enhanced services, including adding a Houston call to one string, and Miami to another.
The filed eastbound increases, effective May 1, are:
• From the U.S. East Coast, $240 per 20-foot container, $300 per 40-foot container or 40-foot high-cube, and $340 per 45-foot container.
• From the Gulf Coast, $315 per 20-footer, $390 per 40-foot container or high-cube, and $440 per 45-footer.
• From the West Coast, $240 per 40-footer, $300 per 45-foot container and high-cube, and $340 per 45-footer.
It plans further eastbound GRI, effective Aug. 15:
• From the East Coast, $120 per 20-foot container, $150 per 40- foot container or 40-foot high cube, and $170 per 45-foot container.
• From the Gulf Coast, $160 per 20-foot, $195 per 40-foot and 40- foot high-cube, and $220 per 45-foot container.
• From the West Coast, $120 per 20-footer, $150 per 40-footer and high-cube, and $170 per 45-footer.
Westbound, the increases are the same for all U.S. and Canadian destinations. On May 1 they are $260 per 20-foot container, $325 per 40-foot container, $370 per 40-foot high cube, and $415 per 45 foot container. On Aug. 15 the comparable increases are $135, $165, $190, and $210.
The increases apply only to dry cargo, not reefer boxes, and do not include exempt commodities.
