Robust Intra-Asia trade is set to grow even further as major players expand their services covering the region.
Cheng Lie Navigation Co (CNC), an Intra-Asia specialist and subsidiary of French line CMA CGM, will launch three new services in late June/early July.
The NCX service between North China and Vietnam begins sailing on June 25. It will offer quick transit times for cargo moving between North China and Vietnam as well as full coverage of Pearl River Delta ports via Hong Kong.
Three vessels of 1,700 TEUs will provide more than 200 reefer plugs a week. The port rotation will be Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Lianyungang, Hong Kong, Shekou, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Dalian.
The CHT service linking Korea and China to Thailand starts on June 26. It will complement Cheung Lie's existing CTS service and add new calls at Xiamen, Hong Kong (southbound) and Bangkok.
The fleet will comprise three vessels of 1,700 TEUs, and port rotation will be Incheon, Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Hong Kong, Xiamen, Incheon.
CNC's third new sailing is the HBS service from North China to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia that kicks off on July 3.
It will provide a direct connection and competitive transit times from North China to Indonesia with return calls at Singapore and Port Kelang and on to North China.
The fleet will be four 2,700 TEU vessels and the port rotation will be Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Shekou, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Port Kelang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dalian.
In conjunction with the launch of the new services, CNC is upgrading its China 1 service linking China to Southeast Asia.
The service will deploy four 2,700 TEU vessels that will replace the fleet's current 1,700 TEU ships. Port rotation will be Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Manila, Jakarta, Surabaya, Hong Kong, Qingdao.
Also expanding their operations are Evergreen and Wan Hai, and the carriers will launch a new China-Southeast Asia service known as the Hwa Bei Strait service (HBS) from mid-July, reports PR News Service.
Deploying four vessels providing 2,100 TEU of weekly capacity equally split between the two lines, the new service will offer direct port calls at: Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Hong Kong, Shekou, Jakarta, Port Kelang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dalian.
The first southbound sailing from Dalian is scheduled for July 17.
