THE Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) expects its members to levy a bunker surcharge of US$575 per TEU and $1,150 per FEU for cargo from Japan, Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to ports in Australia from November 23.
The AADA statement said the bunker surcharge reflected a "recent increase in the price of oil at Hong Kong and South Korea".
AADA members include ANL Singapore, China Shipping, Cosco, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag- Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, MSC, MOL, NYK, OOCL and TS Line.
