According to a number of media reports, Chinese logistics company, Sinotrans, has agreed to merge with China Yangtze Transportation (Group) Corp.
The merger would create a US$15 billion transportation and logistics company operating in marine, oil and river shipping as well as the express delivery, freight forwarding and warehousing sectors.
Subject to approval from China's state assets regulator and other related government departments, the merger is expected to be completed by end-2008.
