Syria’s newest international trading gateway, Tartous International Container Terminal (TICT), has been officially inaugurated by the country’s prime minister, Mohammad Naji Ottari.
TICT took over the terminal in October 2007, upgrading its infrastructure, equipment fleet, IT systems and manpower skills as well as rolling out a terminal operating system.
TICT is a Syrian subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), the Manila-based port operator, which has earmarked US$37 million for investment in the terminal.
