Fesco offers Far East-Black Sea service with PIL, Wan Hai

8/4/2008 9:59:23 AM

Vladivostok 's Far Eastern Shipping Co (Fesco) has launched a weekly service connecting Shanghai, Ningbo and Shenzhen to the Black Sea ports of Ilichevsk and Odessa via Singapore through a slot buying scheme on the PIL-Wan Hai Far East-East Med-Black Sea service.

Connections can be made with other ports (including Xingang and Qingdao) as well as to ports in Korea and Vietnam thanks to Fesco's intra Asia network, reports Paris-based AXS Alphaliner News.

The service deploys seven ships between 2,600 and 2,800 TEU. It was launched by PIL and Wan Hai in December with a fortnightly frequency, which became weekly in April. Odessa, not in the first rotation, was added in May.
