Maersk Line’s Nedlloyd Oceania called at Da Chan Bay Terminal One recently, becoming the second service from the Danish carrier to call at the West Shenzhen port.
Nedlloyd Oceania is deployed on Maersk Line’s Asia-Middle East (FM3) service.
Soren Karas, head of Maersk Line for the South China Cluster, said the carrier regarded Da Chan Bay as important in securing comprehensive port coverage in the region.
“This is the second service that Maersk Line opens at Da Chan Bay Terminal One, our first service started there in February,” said Karas.
“We believe this increases the value proposition of the Maersk Line service offerings in South China.”
Andrew Milliken, chief executive of Da Chan Bay Terminal One said: “Da Chan Bay Terminal One is the newest container terminal in Shenzhen and is strategically-located to enjoy unparallel connectivity to cargo catchment areas in both western and eastern PRD.
“We are also well-equipped to handle the world’s largest existing and planned container vessels and deliver unsurpassed standards of service and productivity to our customers,” he said.
The maiden call of Nedlloyd Oceania commences the FM3 service that provides weekly calls every Wednesday and deploys container vessels with an average capacity of 3,600 TEU. The vessels deployed for the service follow a port rotation of Kwangyang - Busan - Hakata - Hong Kong – Da Chan Bay Terminal One -Tanjung Pelepas - Jawaharlal Nehru - Port Qasim.
