HKIA cargo down 13.4 per cent

Cargo traffic at Hong Kong International Airport in June 2009 declined 13.4 per cent compared to the same month in 2008, to 270,000 tonnes.   Exports declined 17 per cent over the same month last year, mainly due to weaker North American and European markets.   For the first half of 2009, HKIA handled 1.5 million tonnes of air cargo and reported 138,290 aircraft movements.   Aircargo Asia Pacific
