Hapag-Lloyd will launch a container service connecting Far East Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, starting in early May.

The new service, called the Middle East Express (MEX), replaces the German ocean carrier’s Asia-Middle East Service (KMS) on the same route.

The MEX port coverage will be: Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Colombo, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Port Kelang, Singapore, Laem Chabang and Yantian.

The first vessel sailing will be from Busan on May 7.

The current KMS covers Busan, Kwangyang, Ningbo, Port Kelang, Yantian, Hong Kong, Singapore, Karachi and Jebel Ali. The last KMS sailing is scheduled for May 8 from Kwangyang.
