Hapag-Lloyd Expands Russia Express Service

9/6/2012 11:02:08 AM

Hapag-Lloyd is upgrading its Russia Express Service (REX) with an additional eastbound call at Gdynia, Poland, starting this month.

The new REX rotation is Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Gdynia, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Gdynia and back to Bremerhaven.

Hapag-Lloyd said it would maintain existing transit times for cargo destined for St. Petersburg and Helsinki.

The German ocean carrier launched the weekly REX loop in May, deploying two vessels of around 1,400 20-foot equivalent units capacity.

The first vessel under the enhanced rotation will be the MV Emotion, arriving Gdynia Sept. 9.
