UPS has published new rates for 2013, including an average net increase of 4.5 percent for all air and U.S. origin international services, and 4.9 percent on ground services, effective Dec. 31.
The air and international services rate increases are based on a 6.5 percent average increase in the base rate, and the rate increase for UPS ground services is based on a 5.9 percent average increase in the base rate.
The company's next day, second day and third day air freight rates for shipments within and between the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico will increase 4.9 percent.
