SINGAPORE's Pacific International Lines (PIL) is expanding the network coverage of its China Transpacific Australasia (CTP) service by adding an import call at Brisbane.
The move is designed to reduce the transit time from the US West Coast port of Long Beach to Brisbane to 18 days, while the service will call at Sydney before Melbourne to shorten the transit time from Long Beach to Sydney to 20 days.
The transit time to Melbourne will be 23 days and 29 days to Tauranga in New Zealand. A report by Alphaliner said the Brisbane export call to Asia has been maintained.
The revised CTP port rotation is Manila, Keelung, Ningbo, Shanghai, Long Beach, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Tauranga, Brisbane and back to Manila.
The new rotation will take effect with the sailing of the Kota Jaya, voyage number 238, which is scheduled to depart from Long Beach on September 1 and arrive in Brisbane on September 19.
