Cuba plans to open Mariel container terminal this month

The first stage of a container terminal in Cuba at the Mariel Special Development Zone west of Havana will be opened this month by President Raul Castro and Dilma Rousseff, the president of Brazil, according to a report by the Cuban News Agency. Castro "described the new project as very attractive for foreign investors and a lab to consider the application of new technologies and entrepreneurial management methods," it said. It has been reported for several years that Singapore's PSA will operate the terminal. American Shipper
