Changi’s cargo rises in November

Singapore Changi Airport saw airfreight movements in November grow by 2.4 percent year over year, with a total of 161,000 tonnes of cargo handled during the month.

Year-to-date, Changi Airport has handled close to 1.7 million tonnes of cargo, a slight increase of 0.9 percent compared to the same period in 2012.

Air traffic movements for November grew 6.9 percent to 29,500 flights. Changi Airport’s passenger movements increased by 2.3 percent.

Growth in travel demand was strongest for Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia among Changi Airport’s top 10 markets. Traffic to and from Denpasar, Bali; Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo rose by more than 10 percent.
