Singapore Changi Airport handled 152,800 tonnes of airfreight in September, a decrease of 2.5 percent year over year.
For the first three quarters of 2013, air cargo shipments were stable at 1.4 million tonnes, up 0.7 percent compared to the same period in 2012.
Meanwhile, passenger movements increased in September by 6.9 percent year over year.
United Airways will begin operations Nov. 4 at Changi Airport. United will operate a three-time-a-week service between Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Singapore using a MD-83 aircraft. In addition, Tigerair is commencing new services in October to Lijiang, China, Surabaya, Indonesia, and Yangon, Myanmar.
