Changi Airport's cargo volume up 1.8pc in October to 157,400 tonnes

CHANGI Airport handled 1.8 per cent more cargo in October year on year to 157,400 tonnes.

On a rolling basis, airfreight volumes were stable at 1.85 million tonnes over the 12-month period.

Passenger traffic rose by 3.2 per cent year-on-year in October, with 4.41 million passengers passing through the airport. Aircraft landings and takeoffs were up 6.7 per cent to 29,500.

Passenger traffic to Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia registered double-digit growth during October.

On a rolling year basis, passenger movements grew 6.2 per cent year on year to 53.4 million and aircraft movements were up 5.6 per cent to 339,900, a statement from airport authority said.
