Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics has started a new service from Spain to South Africa and Australia.
Vessels will depart Santander, Spain, twice a month, and include extra capacity. The vessels will carry cars, rolling equipment and breakbulk.
"WWL is excited to support manufacturer needs for ocean transportation from Spain to South Africa and Oceania," stated Ramon Oliete, head of the carrier's Iberia branch for WWL. "In 2013, a total of 1.9 million cars were produced in Spain. Of that amount, 90 percent or 1.7 million cars were exported. As we expect the shift toward greater manufacturing in Spain to continue, it becomes important to strengthen export-bound ocean service here."
