CHINA Southern Airlines has announced the launch of its new summer and autumn schedule that will run until the end of October.
The focus of this flight season will be to strengthen its Guangzhou/Beijing hub by increasing the airline's flight frequency. In order to facilitate this goal, the carrier will expand its fleet by 33 new aircraft by 2008 to meet growing domestic demand, a statement from the carrier said.
During this summer/autumn period, the airline plans to open from Beijing new daily services to Chongqing, Lanzhou, Liuzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Weihai and Yantai. It also intends to increase flight frequencies from Beijing to Guiyang, Wuhan and Yiwu.
China Southern will be launching new flights from Guangzhou to Yangon, Phuket, Siem Reap and Vientiane between July 9 and July 12 and start a Guangzhou-Delhi service on September 9.
The carrier will be operating non-stop Boeing 777 service between Guangzhou and Los Angeles International Airport every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each week it will also offer two flights from Guangzhou to Saipan.
In Australia, China Southern is operating its Guangzhou-Melbourne-Sydney-Guangzhou service three flights a week and will fly four times weekly between Guangzhou and Sydney.
