Overseas Orient Container Lines is raising rates next month for shipments from South China to Australia, adding new lanes to the price hikes the operator has been announcing in the Australia trade.
What OOCL calls its “rate restoration” action will take effect July 15 and add $250 per 20-foot container and $500 per 40-foot container to charges out of Hong Kong, Macau and South China.
The action is in line with price increases OOCL has announced from Northeast Asia to Australia and will impose on cargo out of Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East to Australia effective July 1.
The vessel operator also announced upgraded service on a key intra-Asia feeder loop effective this month.
