Pacific International Expands Trans-Pacific Service

5/9/2011 10:08:06 AM

Pacific International Lines is expanding its China Transpacific service to connect Long Beach with ports in Australia and New Zealand.

The weekly service with nine vessels, each with a capacity of about 1,550 TEUs, will call in Qingdao, Ningbo and Shanghai, China, Long Beach, Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, Tauranga, New Zealand, Brisbane, Australia, Keelung, Taiwan, and Qingdao.

In addition to those ports of call, PIL offers coverage of the South Pacific islands through its subsidiary company, Pacific Direct Line.

U.S. exporters on June 21 will be able to start loading shipments in Long Beach destined for Australia and New Zealand.

PIL currently operates three strings to Australia and one string to New Zealand from Asia. This new service will enhance the line’s network in Australasia.
