COSCO Container Lines, part of the CKYH Alliance, is considering offering new services to the west and east coasts of South America and increasing sailings to the Gulf of Mexico.
According to its executive vice president Howard Finkel, Cosco forecasts an expansion of Panama Canal volume on its all-water services from the Far East to the US, of which three transit Panama Canal and one uses Suez Canal.
Cosco is in talks with Evergreen to join the CKYH Alliance along with "K" Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin to extend partnership between the carriers on services between Asia and Europe that began in 2012, reported American Shipper.
