Chilean carriers CCNI and CSAV will next month swap calls on their joint Gulf Express Service (GEX) from Puerto Limón in Costa Rica to Santo Tomás de Castilla in Guatemala.
CCNI said the decision to drop Puerto Limón was made due to the port’s draft limitations. The last call at the Costa Rican port will be made by the CSAV Venezuela on June 6. The CCNI Veracruz will make the first call at Santo Tomás de Castilla on June 16.
The weekly service uses three ships averaging 1,743 TEUs and will have a revised port rotation of Houston, Altamira, Veracruz, Santo Tomás de Castilla, Puerto Cortés, Cartagena, Puerto Cabello, San Juan, Rio Haina and Houston.
