DHL Global Forwarding launched less-than-containerload direct services from Germany to Ghana, Kenya and South Africa, as the Deutche Post DHL Group subsidiary taps growing German manufacturing and auto parts exports to Africa.
The service will shorten transit times from Bremen, Germany, to Tema, Ghana; Cape Town, South Africa; and Mombasa, Kenya, by five to six days, DHL said. Energy, automotive and manufacturing companies exported much of the $27.2 billion in German goods shipped to Africa in 2010.
