Qantas forecasts 25-30pc higher earnings in FY2006/07

12/6/2006 9:38:52 AM

IN a statement to authorities at the Australian Stock Exchange, Qantas has announced that it expects its profit before tax for the 2006/07 financial year to be 25 to 30 per cent higher than the year before.

Qantas Airways said the forecast was made after taking into account the "strong trading conditions" that look set to continue.

The prediction, however, hinges on fuel prices remaining around current levels, it added.
