CMA CGM joins transatlantic rate increase chase

The French liner carrier CMA CGM has joined a number of other lines in seeking to boost transatlantic rate levels. The line said it will increase rates by $300 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot container from Northern Europe and the Mediterranean to the U.S. East Coast. It will also hike rates from Northern Europe to Canada and Mexico by $275 per 20-foot container and $375 per 40-foot container. The increases, effective Oct. 1, apply to both dry and refrigerated cargoes.  American Shipper
