Carriers to skip Asia-Black Sea sailing

The liner carrier Hapag-Lloyd said this week that an Asia-Black Sea service on which it is a partner will skip a sailing in late November. The ABX service, operated jointly the New World and Grand alliances, has a rotation of Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Said, Ashdod, Istanbul, Constanza, Odessa, Istanbul, Ashdod, Port Said, Singapore, and Ningbo. It’s operated with nine vessels (four each from MOL and OOCL and one from APL) with an average capacity of 6,003 TEUs, according to ComPair Data. Hapag-Lloyd, which is a member of the Grand Alliance, said the sailing is being skipped as "part of the vessel maintenance scheme."   American Shipper
