Hapag-Lloyd Set to Change Rates, Fees on April 1

Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates for dry commodities in its trade from British Columbia to East Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, effective April 1. The hike will be $160 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container.

The ocean carrier has decreased its bunker fuel factor for all dry, refrigerated, flat rack and open top containers from Asia, including the Indian subcontinent, to all U.S. and Canada destinations:

  • For west coast ports of discharge, the new level will be $429 per 20-foot container, $536 per 40-foot container, $603 per 40-foot high-cube container and $679 per 45-foot container.
  • For east coast ports of discharge, the new level will be $812 per 20-foot container, $1,015 per 40-foot container, $1,142 per 40-foot high-cube container and $1,285 per 45-foot container.
