Hapag-Lloyd will begin offering weekly service to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
The German container ship line said the service, operated by Tropical Shipping, will connect to other Hapag-Lloyd services via Caucedo, Dominican Republic.
The first sailing on the service southbound will be the Stadt Bremen, leaving Saint John on Sept. 18. The first northbound sailing will be the Tropic Palm, sailing from Caucedo on the same day.
Separately, Hapag-Lloyd said the Virginia port of call for its new South America East Coast Service will be Norfolk, instead of Portsmouth.
