CHINA's largest carrier, China Southern Airlines, has taken delivery of a new Airbus A320, raising the total number of aircraft produced by the European aircraft manufacturer in its fleet to 100.
"The arrival of China Southern's 100th Airbus aircraft - a brand new Airbus A320 - symbolises the long-term co-operation between our two companies as it enters a new era," said China Southern chairman Liu Shao Yong.
There are a total of 292 aircraft in China Southern's operational fleet, including A319, A321 and A300 aircraft. The carrier said in a statement that it is the largest operator of the A320 in China.
Future deliveries to China Southern include the superjumbo Airbus A380. China Southern will become the launch customer for the A380 in the world's most populous nation.
China Southern Airlines presently connects to more than 80 cities around the globe.
