Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport achieved a year-on-year increase in August passenger numbers of 7.1 per cent overall, while domestic passengers climbed by a remarkable 15.3 per cent.
Passenger throughput in August was 3,232,687, taking the June/August northern summer total to 9,123,000.
Contributing to the domestic growth was a substantial increase in transit traffic.
Cargo movements also grew in August, climbing 4.4 per cent to 17,375 tonnes.
For the calendar year to the end of August, cargo throughput was up 3.6 per cent to 122,991 tonnes.
Domodedovo is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary.
