6/20/2013 9:39:59 AM

The growth of container throughput in Chinese ports continues to lead the world, according to a forecast report released by the Centre for Forecasting Science under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, reported Xinhua.

The report listed the top 20 container ports in the world for this year, 11 of which were in China. And among the top 10, seven of them were in China.

The container throughput in the Bohai-Rim ports has been registering the fastest growth. Tianjin and Qingdao ports are expected to record about 10 percent year-on-year growth in container throughput, and Dalian port is expected to see an increase of over 24 percent.

The container throughput growth in Pearl River Delta ports is predicted to slow down, while the throughput in Hong Kong port could register negative growth of -3.3 percent to -2.4 percent this year.
