THE General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Macau (AACM) have recently signed a new Memorandum of Understanding regarding bilateral air transport services, Xinhua reports.
According to the new MoU, Macau airlines will be allowed to fly to 20 new destinations on the mainland, raising the total number of China cities in their flight network to 57.
The new China destinations are: Changchun, Taiyuan, Hefei, Luoyang, Yantai, Beihai, Meixian, Zhanjiang, Lanzhou, Hailaer, Yanji, Jiamusi, Qiqihaer, Mudanjiang, Weihai, Xishuangbanna, Lahsa, Kashi, Yinchuan and Yichang.
To cope with growing demand for air transport between mainland China and Macau, the new MoU relaxes limitations on capacity. For the summer-autumn schedule of 2007, the frequency of service from seven Chinese cities - Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Kunming and Dalian - to Macau will be increased to 14 flights per week.
Services from other China destinations to Macau operated by designated airlines will also not be limited by flight numbers and aircraft types.
