Evergreen adds new service in transpacific

Evergreen said it will launch a new weekly direct service next month linking central China with the U.S. West Coast.    The China-Pacific South West Service (CPS2) will employ five 4,000-TEU ships, with an inaugural sailing from Ningbo on May 14. The port rotation will be Ningbo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Oakland and Ningbo.    Evergreen said it also said it will use the new CPS2 and its existing HTW service (which according to BlueWater Reporting uses five Evergreen ships - four with 8,073-TEU capacity and one with 8,428-TEU capacity) "to provide capacity for a slot exchange arrangement with COSCO's CEN, and Hanjin's CAX and PSX services. The rotation of those loops will be: HTW - Taipei, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Yantian, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Taipei. CEN (COSCO) -Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Long Beach, Oakland, and Dalian. CAX (Hanjin) - Shanghai, Kwangyang, Busan, Long Beach, Oakland, Seattle, Tokyo, Osaka, Busan, and Shanghai.
