Grand Alliance adds northern Europe service to Port Everglades

THE Florida International Terminal (FIT) at Port Everglades will handle a Grand Alliance direct Gulf Atlantic Express (GAX) service from northern Europe from August 24. Jointly operated by Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL it covers the trade between northern Europe and the US east coast and Gulf areas and will start with the sailing of the 3,237-TEU Philadelphia Express to arrive on August 24 from Bremerhaven. The service operates five 3,237-TEU ships that will call at Port Everglades Saturday mornings, reported the Massachusetts-based American Journal of Transportation. The GAX rotation is Port Everglades, Houston, Savannah, Charleston, Portsmouth/Norfolk to Antwerp, Thamesport, Bremerhaven, and back to Port Everglades.  Asian Shipper News
