The EU has unanimously approved the open skies agreement between the EU and US, opening the door to closer transatlantic co-operation and a healthier air transportation industry.
“The deal is of great political and economic importance,” said European Commission vice president Jacques Barrot. “The fact that everyone in the Council has been able to welcome the outcome is to be commended.”
“This open skies agreement paves the way for much-desired increased service between the US and Europe. It has the potential to provide enormous benefits to our respective customers and economies,” said Air Transport Association president & CEO James May.
