Yangtze River Express Airlines, a private Chinese air cargo carrier, has launched a new Shanghai-Anchorage-New York-Boston service, Xinhua reports. This is as a first step in developing the company’s network connecting Europe and America to mainland China.
The airline uses Boeing 747-200 freighters to provide three flights each week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Since being founded in 2002, the carrier now operates on 30 domestic and international routes, including intra-Asia services from China to Seoul, Manila, Dacca, Bangkok and Singapore.
