Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line has announced a rate increase in its Southeast Asia-Australia services, effective Jan. 15, 2013.
Freight rates for traffic from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indian subcontinent and the Middle East to Australia will be hiked by $200 per 20-foot-equivalent unit.
Ocean freight rates continue to be below the required level to cover basic operating and transportation costs in these services, the company said.
