Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam’s Material Handling Systems Business Unit has been awarded a contract to supply a Rubber Tired Gantry Crane or RTGC to Da Nang Port. The official contract signing ceremony took place in Da Nang on August 28th.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thu, CEO of Da Nang Port said he appreciates the quality of cranes manufactured by Doosan Vina, he summed up his feelings by saying “Vietnamese people should use Vietnamese goods".

Doosan Vina’s General Director Hang Ha Ryu, said: "This is the second domestic crane supply agreement of Doosan Vina after the two RTGCs made by us are currently at work loading and unloading cargo at the Cat Lai Port, Ho Chi Minh City. I believe that in light of the recent policy announcement of the government to prioritize domestic products, Doosan Vina will see more domestic contracts in the future”.
Under this contract, Doosan Vina will provide an RTGC to Da Nang Port that is designed to load and unload the large and growing volume of goods that flow through the port. The delivery of the unit is expected to take place in ten months.
A typical Doosan Vina’s RTGC weighs 145 tons is 27m high, 25m long and 11m wide. RTGC’s are designed to move the 40 ton containers typical in global logistics today.
Da Nang is the 3rd largest port in Vietnam with a depth of 15-20m and this new RTGC will increase the efficiency and capacity of the port substantially.
