Containerisation International published last week a comprehensive guide to the world’s Top 100 container ports.
The guide supplies not only the latest figures for the ports (up to end 2012) but also a broad summary of the ports’ activity in that year, and key data for each one.
Port of Haifa is ranked 91 (96th in 2011) with throughput 2012: TEU1,372,209, up 11% on 2011 (TEU 1,235,000).
Port of Ashdod has been ranked 100 compared to 98 the year before with throughput of TEU 1,168,000 compared to TEU 1,170,000 in 2011.
Its Top 5 ports and their throughput is: 1. Shanghai (China).Throughput 2012: TEU32,529,000, up 2.5% (TEU 790,000) on 2011. 2. Singapore (Singapore).Throughput 2012: TEU 31,649,400, up 5.7% (TEU 1,711,700) on 2011. 3. Hong Kong (China).Throughput 2012: TEU 23,117,000, down 5.2% (TEU -1,267,000) on 2011. 4. Shenzhen (China). Throughput 2012: TEU 22,940,130, up 1.6% (TEU 369,330) on 2011. 5. Busan (South Korea).Throughput 2012: TEU 17,046,177, up 5.3% (TEU 861,471) on 2011.
